Hi Toni,
Here are some alternatives to painting a long narrow hallway, it does give painting as an option, just scroll past that since you prefer to find another way:

Bead board is an inexpensive solution. Sheets of 4' x 8' are under $20. You can use construction adhesive like Loctite to install. The look is clean and crisp.

I too like bead board but you would have seams. And the inexpensive stuff is difficult to nail into. Have you thought of removing the texture and maybe wallpapering or painting a neat design on the walls?
Consider board & batten. If you are interested, there are several projects that have been posted on Hometalk. Perhaps this one will give you a good idea.

What about wallpaper? I know that can be more work than painting, tho. Here is a link that shows 20 alternatives to paint for interior walls: https://www.homestratosphere.com/paint-alternatives/
Several good suggestions. What I used in my downstairs hall was a thick, paintable wallpaper that evens out rough walls. It was no harder than regular wallpaper to apply. I used a paper made by Brewster. I have since also used a beadboard look paper with the same properties made by Graham and Brown. I purchased mine on Amazon, but, it is available on other sites and some Home Depot stores. Some are pasted and some aren't, so you would need some wallpaper glue, also. Good luck!
