I raised my antique stove by putting in a slab of bricks. Looks great. My cabinets are not raised but the old stove was due to the era it was manufactured.
I used to have a wooden floor in my kitchen and my freestanding oven sat directly on it with no issues. So as long as it is sufficiently braced, I would think you are good.
Depending on the age of your range, the feet might be adjustable. I'd check that first! 😊
It may depend on how high the box needs to be. Also, this will create issues when you need to move it out for cleaning or repairs.
Yes you can, just make sure it is stable and level.
I don't see why not if it's level. Make sure the box does not make it to high or it will be awkward using the stove.
Technically, yes. In addition to the shear weight being born by the “box”, physically getting the stove to perch on it-
there’s the floor mopping water wicking under and into it, as well as the drips down the side soaking into it.
Therefore the contact point with the floor needs to be either treated lumber or CDX plywood. The deck will need to be plywood and I would paint it with an exterior grade or at least a latex enamel.
If you want to raise your kitchen cabinets to a height greater than 36” AFF, then consider it will be hard to exert a downforce for cutting tough foods or kneading bread.
Also your sink plumbing and where the dishwasher drains into the garbage disposal will all need to be redone.
If you want to remove all the countertops and put in blocking and fascia boards, expect a Murphy’s Law scenario.
Often construction adhesive is used or there are blind nails and screws.
You can raise the stove by putting it on a plywood box. Make sure it's level and secure. To raise the cabinets you would need to remove the countertop and cabinets, build a wood base the height you want, and reinstall the cabinets on the base. Plumbing would need to be disconnected and modified for the change in height.
Glad you read you’re reading the responses.
It’s ok to pose some additional questions 💁🏼♀️
For safety & heat reasons, I dont think you should put your stove on a box. Not sure that would pass code.
