Hi Ann,
Cut off the bottom and seal with iron or on top electric ring of cooker. Cut off top of bottle neck is too narrow and seal in the same way. Buy and fix Water Downpipe clips to a wall or cupboard and push into them the soda container. Stuff with poly bags one at a time into upside down bottle and retrieve from neck end. Hope that's what you were after.
I found this video on YouTube, it looks pretty easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNH2U2HFBVc
Use a gallon milk jug instead. Many already have a round indentation in them. Cut that out with a sharp scissors and trim so there are no sharp plastic edges. Stuff the bags in the hole ALWAYS starting with the bottom of the bag to force out the air. You can get about 50 in the gallon milk jug and it has a convenient handle on it. I keep one in the bathroom under the sink and one in the kitchen.
