Let us know how it goes! I hope you're able to get it back to looking brand new.
You can use wood putty to fill in and mold back to the original shape. If it is wood finish, you will need to match the current finish either when you purchase or by adding stain to the putty as it doesn't take stain after hardening.
Another option would be do to a decorative edging if that is all that is damaged.
Hello Irene, hope these help you out, it will take a bit of work but you can fox it up nicely,

My cat sharpened her claws on a door frame. I filled with wood filler, sanded and painted.
Irene...can u send a picture please of the damage
wood putty filler, sand paper and either a stain that matches or paint the entire table and give it a makeover!
Ty very much I will try it
The JB Weld company, makes JB Wood which is a kneaded Pre-Colored epoxy putty which is used by pros. (YT has a lot of videos on this).
It is more like clay to work with while it’s moist, so you have less sanding at the end. You can use a butter knife or a plastic spatula and work it like clay.
If its the leg that got chewed, you can buy replacement legs at the hardware or home store, or on amazon.
fill it with wood putty, sand, and repaint or stain. Depending on the color and getting the new color to match, you may have to restain or repaint the entire table
wood filler or buy replacement legs
