How can I fix blinds that the kitten tore up?
Our kitten decided to use our honeycomb foil insulated blinds as a scratching post and climbing tree. Is there anyway to repair them?

You could try repairing it with some fabric but I think they are a goner.
Hello.
That looks like a tough maybe challenging repair. It might be worth trying. If they are to be discarded —what do you have to loose? If you are a perfectionist it might be a waste of time as a repair shadow With sunlight could potentially be a result.
I would use a thinner piece of fabric or paper....for example vellum or parchment -glue a prefolded repair patch to reinforce and support, followed by —I would reverse the shade— so the patched repair is on the exterior view.
The easiest repair would likely be to use medical grade first aid paper adhesive tape...but that might be a more i obvious repair- I would guess. You might consider that.
Judy...I believe they are beyond repair...sorry!
Yes. You remove the Broken Blinds and adjust the RopeLengthIs. It will be slightly shorter.
You have a naughty kitty (just kidding). The cat needs it's own scrathing post. I sprinkle mine with cat nip to make it extra fun. Also use sisal rope to cover the legs of the post. Cats seem to love to dig their claws into sisal. But the blinds look like they are toast. Sorry!
I would replace them with something the kitten is not interested in, they are beyond any practical good looking repair. The wooden slat blinds maybe an option, or pretty plastic shutters. Maybe a privacy coating for the window, they have them at diy stores and Amazon.
Trying to glue pieces over the damaged spots will not be effective, as they will only prevent the accordion folds from compressing properly when attempting to raise the blind.
Sorry for chiming in to this thread so late, but I just had to share this in case it helps someone out. I wish I had gotten this advice years ago as a cat owner.
My best advice?
Give the book " Ultimate Cat Secrets" a read.
It really is the only long-term solution to discipline your cat, OP.
This might come as a surprise to you, but your cat actually wants to obey you.
It’s kitty’s independent, sassy nature that makes you fall in love with him, but it’s this very attitude that makes it frustrating to train fun behaviours into your favourite feline.
Cats respond best to positive reinforcement – yelling, punishing or disciplining your cat just won’t work.
In my opinion, Ultimate Cat Secrets is a must-have for all cat lovers. It's not just a cat training manual – it’s one of the quickest and most comprehensive guides to living with a cat that I’ve ever seen.
The easy access audio format makes it a breeze to digest from your computer or your mobile device and the lessons inside are easy to implement. And if that’s not enough for you, ordering now will score you FIVE great bonuses:
1) How to toilet train your cat and get rid of that stinky litter box forever.
2) Extra tips audio program which includes basic first aid and tips on my favourite kitty calming remedy.
3) Pet medical recorder – an absolute essential for parents of asthma cats or any kitty with a chronic medical condition.
4) Downloadable transcripts of the entire program and all the bonus materials.
5) 100 recipes to pamper your feline friend.
I HIGHLY recommend it.
