Can I use unicorn spit on wood with a finish?
The large piece I want to use the spit on is not going to be sanded, I'm only using krud kutter deglosser on it. It did not cut the shine thou. As long as I have cleaned it well can I go ahead with the spit? Its my first time using it. This piece can't be moved from its current spot in my living room. This is the reason I am not sanding it.Thank you!!

"Penetrates deep into bare wood grain or glazes over existing finishes, brightening and highlighting painted surfaces. "
Hi! The short answer is yes, you can. It will probably have more of a glaze appearance than if applied to bare wood. The cool thing about unicorn spit is you can layer colors and it sticks to most surfaces. There is a great site I have bookmarked about it, so here it is:

I didn't sand this project here and it worked ok! https://happydealhappyday.com/update-end-table-using-unicorn-spit/
You should be good to go with your spit. But I recommend doing a couple test runs first, especially if this is your first time using it. Have fun and figure out what you like and the things you don't like.
Hi Val, Unicorn Spit should work fine without sanding first. If you piece is dark, you may find that some of the US colors don't show up like they should and you'll either need to prime it first with a light coloured primer, or add many layers of US. Have fun
Yes it will work, but it does work better if the surface is slightly rough.
It will work very well, a slightly rougher surface will be a bit better, but you should be ok, it may turn out glossier than if it was just plain wood.
