Have you called the place you bought this at and asked them? What about contacting the company that makes this? Their product was incomplete.
B1 and B2 look like they can be replaced with strips of 1x1 wood or possibly 2x2. I would start with 1x1. You can probably get an 8 foot length very cheaply. Be sure it is not treated.
B2 attaches to the changing station so it has more holes in it.
==Start with B1 because it’s simpler.
==Cut it to the proper length.
==Hold it in place and mark the position for the bolt which is in the back.
==Drill that one hole.
==Put it in place with the bolt.
==Mark the position for the other bolts and screws (they may have different diameters.
==Put B1 in place, adjusting the holes if necessary.
Follow this same procedure for B2. There are more holes but the process is the same.
This looks like it will be hidden by the mattress but if you want to paint it most craft colors are non-toxic once they are dry.
As long as you have all the hardware you should be able to do this in about an hour or so.
Please ask if you have any followup questions.
Hi! I would contact the manufacturer for a replacement part. Cribs have all kinds of regulations about spacing, the way the sides work to prevent injury, paint safety, etc. If this is a hand-me-down, or something older, check online for recalls, and safety issues. When we had our first baby, we bought a top of the line crib with all types of safety features. There was a toe release on the side, that years later was recalled because kids were playing with the release and it was falling down on them. Meanwhile my sister bought a used crib that was old. Her son slid between the rail and frame and almost died, when his neck was trapped. So, please make sure it's safe, and only use a replacement part that will work with that crib.
I agree with calling the manufacturer or where you both the crib.. Trying to make your own parts can make the crib unsafe. They have to meet certain standards. Type of wood, paint, finish.
As others have said, try contacting the manufacturer. Sometimes cribs are missing parts right out of the box, so they often have a stash of extra parts. If you bought it brand new, the manufacturer should be willing to fix this. If they're hard to get a hold of, try exchanging it for a different one at the store where you bought it.
Cribs are not something to mess with - I wouldn't freelance this important part.
Hello if contacting the manufacturer can’t help you I would suggest re-purposed this piece of the furniture and not risk and safety or structural integrity.
Take it back to the store where you got it and have them replace it or get you another model that is acceptable and assemble it. If no others of your model are available, see if you can get the demo model if there is 1 set up. That way you have a completed crib.
If no satisfaction at the store, contact the manufacturer.
Cribs are subject to recalls for a variety of safety reasons, if you tamper with a home-replacement part, it may void any warranty.
I would contact the manufacturer or the store where you bought it
They sold you a incomplete piece. That your receipt and this back and ask for an exchange or something that will make you the customer happy. If nothing else get a new crib. You don't want to put a baby into something that might not be safe. Saving a few dollars isn't worth putting a baby into a situation that isn't safe.
