Is it a large area you have to fill in? Is it possible for you to post a photo so we can see and give some suggestions?
Hi there, it would help a lot if we could see a picture :)
What kind of project are you repairing Annemc? Give us a bit more information for some good suggestions!

Buy some small bottles of acrylic paint in colors that most closely match the mother of pearl. You'll need to experiment a bit to get the exact coloring needed. You can experiment on poster board or even heavy duty paper to get it right, then brush it into the vacant area. .
Hi there,
Look for pearl nail varnish! Works a treat!! Many coats may be needed. Best wishes..
You can also buy pearl mica on Amazon or craft store, and mix with epoxy glue to fill an area.
You can purchase some to fill it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LX19A65/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01LX19A65&pd_rd_w=luwKy&pf_rd_p=48d372c1-f7e1-4b8b-9d02-4bd86f5158c5&pd_rd_wg=Dk7VY&pf_rd_r=B19S1DETZ9168AAYW9ED&pd_rd_r=9335d4ce-2266-4bbc-8196-80d2541de5b7&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzVzFZSzY2TDYyRVREJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUExMDIxMjA3M1ROWFBUTFhKODhITyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNDQ4NDgyMVRRNzRFM1NMQjhNRSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2RldGFpbCZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
I like the idea of using pearl mica! I have a chest that has some mother of pearl missing, so I will be trying this, too!
Craft paint michaels crafts or homedepot sells craft paint you would need to get a couple of colors to make white pearl lite blue maybe tan
Home Depot sells sheets of that you. Oils buy one and take off what you need and just glue it in and save the rest for future
A photo of your project would really help!
I would look in the paint aisle at Hobby Lobby, I'm sure there is a similar color that would fill it in perfectly!
I would suggest filling with nail polish if not too deep or air dry clay then nail polish.
