Can I paint my thermoplastic cupboards?
My thermoplastic cupboards are presently dark brown. I would like to paint the bottom ones dark grey and the top ones white. I heard that if I do, over time they will start to chip. Can I paint them or not? If so, what type of paint would I use?

I used a kit by Rust-Oleum called Cabinet Transformations to paint my cabinets. Check their website or the packaging to see if your material is covered. You can see how I used the kit here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2015/09/kitchen-cabinets-black.html
Hi! clean well, use Kils, then two coats of a good latex paint!
(Mine have lasted for YEARS!)
Hi Yo. You can paint over thermofoil, provided it isn't peeling. Call your local paint store and ask them what the correct primer is, then apply it and a couple coats of the finish paint. Use a foam roller.
Yes, you can. Make any repairs first. Decide if you want different hardware so that you aren't filling in old holes after painting. Seal with a product like Kilz after getting any grease or grime off with a good cleaner like Krudkutter. Then paint.
When I paint over that type I wash down with TSP then Prime and paint with oil based paints. No top coat or sealer needed.
Hello Yo,
You would need to use (ESP) Easy Surface Preparation first! This is a sort of paintable undercoat to allow the paint to adhere to the plastic. Then paint as usual. Hope that helps.........
