a white window box would look lovely on that window here are some ideas
you could weed the little bed by the house front and plant some colorful flowers or even shrubs that stay green or red all year -
I think I’d add some shutters on that window.
I agrre the windowbox on the one window in the pic would be an asset. Also planting a couple of small bushes close to the house would be nice or perhaps several varieeties of erennials, tall ones close to the home with smalle, lower ones in front. There are "mudjacking" companies that could level the once piece of sidewalk that has dropped and that'll improve the look and be more safe. Color is the key to curb appeal!! You could plant some small evergeens to have color year round beneth the window area.
Some green shrubs (like boxwoods) planted along the house would look amazing contrasted with that blue paint.
For the large bare area under the window, how about a white trellis, patterned like the fence top in the background? A trellis doesn't have to be attached to the house--two posts sunk in the ground would support it. Make sure it's shorter than the height of the window. Then plant a pretty, ever-blooming climbing rose in your favorite color, or a jackmanii clematis vine. Lots of color without taking up a lot of ground--just make sure you leave room between trellis and house.
If that's not your taste, maybe some pretty evergreen shrubs, or flowering ones like dwarf weigela ("Minuet" blooms all summer). There are also some re-blooming azaleas.
You have a great blank slate! Love the house color! Dig in a nice deep bed and plant some tall shrubs near the house. Then border those with some lower growing ones in a contrasting shade. :)
I love Ellis' idea of a trellis. An apricot color rose and a Jackmanii clematis vine would be beautiful on it together. I would make the trellis wide, and center it in the space not on the window. Bringing it out a ways from the house it will help hide the utility meter.
Shutters and window boxes would really help!
