Old window + split rail fence?
I would love to hang an old window on my split rail fence.
How would you go about doing this...securing it from theft!!
People love to admire my "garden decorating" but they also like to steal it!!
You can see how close it will be to both the public sidewalk and the street.
Any ideas???
BTW...there are climbing roses planted at each post
but they are not yet mature enough
to create a deterrent! LoL

Yeah here to if it isn't nailed down it usually disappears during the night.
Could you make a wooden frame, screw or nail that into the fence and adhere your window to that? That would provide a secure way to mount this but the frame would allow you make sure that it was level.
Screws would work
I thought about that too Mogie!! Since it is a split rail fence...you can see both sides of the window...I'd like to keep it as just the window.
Besides...my neighbour is awesome and I'd like her to see the pretty window from her living room window! ;)
Marcella T...yes screws would work if the split rails were squared up...
the window frame is 2" thick and because of the angle of
how the rails were split...
I would need 8 - 10" long screws to attach it to the rails!
I would screw it into the fence with long screws
The window seems "too perfect" and white for the primitive fencing. Maybe you could just add posts in front if your fence and hang it on that securing it with screws.
I would use grapevine to attach them and get some ivies planned at the bottom of the fence to grow delicate over
What about adding a rustic bit of chain, maybe painted white, screwing it into the window and then draping it over the fence in a decorative way and screwing the chain around the split rail? Just a suggestion...
I would use long screws and screw it directly into the split rail fence.
Attach it to the fence with old rusty nails if you have them! Keeps with the rustic look :)
I would get some ell brackets and put them from window and fence large ones use screws.
Simple. Long screws.
I would try molly bolts or just some big bolts with nuts to secure.
Secure it to the post.
Drill a couple small holes in the frame and attach to the fence with screws. Not much is entirely theft-proof but screws are a deterrent and will slow someone down.
