Its so funny you ask this because I was just thinking the other day what I was going to do with all the extra bed posts we have. When we bought our bed, the company did not give us the correct part of the bedpost. I kept calling to get the top portion and they kept sending the bottom portion. I have about 6-7 bedposts that they kept sending us. YES beyond frustrating but they finally got it right. Now I have extra bedposts to figure out what to do with because we kept them in our attic. HAHA. I had a couple of ideas.
If you know a woodworker, you could have it cut in half and apply it to the front or side of a cabinet to add interest to fill in areas (like stock cabinets that needed a filler space). Example would be a pull out spice rack on either side of a kitchen sink.
You could use them as legs for a upcycled table or coffee table.
Cut a third of it and use as interesting bun feet for a an up cycled dresser or furniture makeover.
Love the candlestick idea!!!
I was thinking of making a chandelier with a portion of the bedpost as the center. I would have to somehow drill a hole down the center for all the wires, but if you look at a chandelier, the center is similar. I would refinish it in chalk paint.
You could use it as a curtain pole hardware. Have you ever seen a curtain that is just hanging decorative next to a window without really working. Might be too short to actually go across the window but to hang a curtain decoratively on the side of the window, this would work.
Just throwing out all my brainstorming ideas:)
You can turn them into candle sticks.
