Hi where are your cat scratches? My cat destroyed our basement stairs and I used corner moulding and nailed it from the top to the bottom of the stairs along the edges and no more scratches.
It will depend on what the cat scratched. For wood, try rubbing a walnut "meat" on them.
Where did your kitty scratch, if on wood, sand and paint.
