Using chalk paint seems to be the answer these days! So many pretty colors and you can also distress, add a colored wax, new hardware, and even rub on stencils! I also paint the drawers and line with pretty Contac paper Here's a pretty one!
That's funny. I suppose it could come from maybe getting it mixed up with a chesterfield, (chesterdrawer, O.K.) which is what a sofa or couch is called, depending on where you live.
It's good though to see there is someone else out there who is able to laugh at themselves.

Are you referring to a chest of drawers? If yes paint and change out the hardware. Hobby Lobby has a lot of choices and can send in the mail.
Sometimes ,just changing the pulls/knobs is enough. You could also refinish or paint it. Here's one I did:

The Unfinished Chest of Drawers
Update the hardware. Replace a drawer with baskets. Paint part of it and leave part of it stained.
You could paint it and use transfer designs, here are some beautiful ones:

Hello the most common trend nowadays is to use chalk paint. Are you considering painting your piece?
Painting, decoupage, refinishing and staining would all give a new look. Changing out the hardware is another great way. Good luck and stay safe!
