Hope so. Thanks.
What are these birds made from? Perhaps there is a glue that can hold them together or you can cover them with a resin that will prevent more damage.
I'm afraid I don't know, maybe concrete. I purchased from Kroger few years back.
Have you tried gorilla
glue?
Hi Jambo, they look like cement or pottery, I would try to fill the cracks with glue, and you can then stain them a solid color to cover the cracks. I also attached a link that may give you some guidance. Hope it helps,
Over the years I’ve found other materials that work and a replacement for one product that’s no longer on the market. Read about the new products in brackets below.]
- White PVA glue (such as Elmer’s Glue-All)
- Sculpey Polymer Clay [ Spackle paste easier to mold, doesn’t need baking, but not as durable. Good for filling small areas.]
- Delta Air-Dry PermEnamel paints [I swore by Delta Air-Dry PermEnamel paints for glazed ceramic repairs until Plaid stopped selling their Delta version. Now Plaid sells a version in their Folk Art line. DecoArt also makes similar paints. Read more.
- Cushioned nail files
InstructionsGlue whatever pieces you can back together. Minimize visibility of cracks by spreading a thin layer of PVA on both surfaces and waiting a few minutes until they become tacky.
Then carefully put the pieces together and hold until the glue sets.
Be patient, because if you set the object down to dry too soon, slippage is almost inevitable.
If any sections are missing, rebuild them with Sculpey clay. [I had to rebuild a section of the rim shown in the detail photo.]
Use the Sculpey to fill any chips as well. Then cure in your oven following label directions. Let cool. Then use cushioned nail files to smooth and level any rough spots.
I would use Loctite Power Grab and painter's tape to glue in place and hold until set. Once dry, you could seal them.
Gel super glue. Any brand will work. I like to use Locktite supr glue
Here are a couple ideas for you

I used gorilla glue on an outside statue and it has held up beautifully. It also fills in any missing or misaligned sport. After you fix the birds, you can spray paint them or paint with acrylic paints. I am doing that right now to spiffy up the garden. If you use acrylics be sure to top coat with Rustoleum high gloss spray paint.
Try to fill the cracks with a clear super glue.
I agree with Betsy. E-600 in a tube works great if you learn how to work with it. As she said, apply it to all the edges wait about 5 minutes or so, so that the glue gets tacky and then place the pieces back toether to adhere. If you don't wait, then the glue doesn't hold well. I learned this through experience. Either hold the two pieces in place or clamp them together firmly if at all possibly. Let the bird set for several hours and you should have excellent results.
I would try super glue
I would not use Gorilla glue because it expands more than the width of those cracks.
Whatever glue you use, make sure it's rated for exterior UV use.
Happy new safe year! Never thought of that. Thank you for the info.
