Oooohhh, just love teal, go for it. You can break up the "too much teal" with contrasting colors on curtains, towels, pictures. Maybe not a full room of teal on the paneling.
I would work out a color scheme first. You need to know what color everything will be so the colors work together and not against each other. Last thing you want to for the kitchen to look like one piece came from Walmart, another from Goodwill and the next from Target.
I would go and let some color swatches from a paint store and figure out what color works where.
If you watch hgtv you will know that when a designer picks out the counter top, wall color and back splash they pick out colors and patterns that work together.
Peggy: Since you already have a pop of Teal color... paint the walls in a neutral (beige, cream, grey) and that color really will POP! ...and you won't tire of neutral
I think teal would look great against white cabinets. Post pictures when you're done!
Hello the teal sounds. Like an exciting choice!
Alternatively —Lighting can be can sometimes change your paint color choice. We wanted to paint it a two-story or year and chose a perceived beige tone paint and it turned out to be peach beige tone with the actual lighting.
Gray choices can be blue, purple, pink, greenish undertones.
The little sample jars could be very helpful to prevent a miscalculation and a waste of time and energy.
A few five dollar jars of paint to apply the color samples on your wall could be a good investment to narrow down your choices with your existing colors fabrics and lighting. Best wishes in your decorating adventures, sometimes making the choices is the most difficult part.
That would be a nice contrast to your cabinets.
I would choose my countertop, then choose paint.
Hi this is Peggy. I believe if you like it, it will be perfect. I love the icy teal and think you have make a wise choice. It's only paint, try a bit and see how you like it. Good luck.
Hi Peggy. Cindy here. I think teal is a very saturated color and should be used with restrain. If the cabinets will be white, the teal will be a strong contrasting color. It might be too much of a color contrast. I would start with painting one wall teal and then decide if you want the entire room enveloped in teal. Wishing you all the best Peggy.
I’d advise you to pick out your countertops and then your paint color. There are thousands of paint colors but only a few countertops - it’s easier to match paint.
The icy teal sounds great with white cabinetry. The countertop will be your most expensive choice, so maybe make that first then see if you still feel teal would be what you'd love. You could even go with a lighter teal by adding white and you'd still be in the same color family. Even a slight variation (lighter/darker) can add a suttle touch of interest that not strikingly noticeable but worth doing.
I love teal as an accent color and I think the counter top color will dictate whether or not if will work. I would choose that first.
This is Icy Teal Glidden WGN45 paint color. It could be interpreted as being more of a grey/green rather than a classic teal.
Keep in mind that a darker solid color countertop shows more flecks and specks of flour, sugar, lint, etc. compared with a lighter color.
Hello Peggy,
Why not! Any colour that you can live with is great as long as it is a wipeable surface !
Maybe use it as an accent color?
