Keep it painted or sealed with exterior grade wood products. Exterminate for termites. Basically treat it like a wooden structure home.
Ensuring the floor of the shed is off the ground on adequate supports will help keep the wood from rotting.
The supports, or concrete pads that the shed sits on need to be level to help prevent the shed walls from tilting, and the doors from warping.
Cover with an outdoor varnish or wood sealer.
Seal with a good sealer
Exterior paint or deck stain.
