Hello Chrisspo, Dampen the tub with water, then sprinkle it with baking soda. Rub the baking soda with a soft sponge until you form a thin paste on the tub, similar to toothpaste. Add more baking soda and water until you form this consistency. Then let the paste sit on the tub for 30 minutes, Repeat for stubborn dirt. hope this helps you

How to Refinish a Claw-Foot Tub | This Old House - YouTubewww.youtube.com › watch
Use Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can. Works on enamel, porcelain, and fiberglass. You would need to scrape and sand the chipped paint
I would start with barkeeper's friend and get a buffing attachment for a drill or purchase a spin scrubber. The power scrubber will save you a lot of back breaking work for around $25. This should get all the dirt and scum build up.
As for chip paint, you will probably have to refinish. I would recommend the RustOleum tub kit. We've had great results with it.
You might start with a paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Leave set for 6 hours or longer, then dampen with very warm water and scrub with a microfiber cloth or large, dampened sponge. If the stains are too set in, I'd do as Kathy suggested, utilizing the buffer on your drill, to save your hands.
I'd try a Mr. Clean magic eraser first. Your tub may need professional work, maybe reglazing.
