How to Silver a Mirror?
The bottom edge of my bathroom cabinet is starting to show black spots. I bought Krylon Silver Looking Glass Spray, and not only did it not fix the mirror, it sprayed on the wall. I'm trying to Comet the stain out. So, now I've got two problems. Advice?

Hi Cecile, I am so sorry to hear that you ended up with two problems!! Unfortunately, if you got the spray paint on the wall the only option would probably be to touch up just that area with a little bit of wall paint. Once it dries, there is little that will take it off sadly.
Right, I figured, but what about the mirror?
You'll need some paint thinner to clean up the wall though be careful, it may remove your paint finish. If you have leftover paint, you could also try sanding off the overspray and repaint. You can try sticking on some aluminum foil, shiny side out for those spots otherwise you might consider re-silvering or replacing.
I thought the Krylon was re-silvering. Should I find a professional?
Hello there,
If you can't re-silver the mirror yourself, maybe you could hide the problem. Stick a tape or ribbon or wallpaper border around it!
Here's an article on re-silvering:

As for the overspray, try wiping with mineral spirits. It may remove the wall paint or lighten it though.
Thank you all for your helpful and quick responses!
If the spots are on the edges you could take the mirror down and into a glass cutter and let them cut the bad spots out. But that is only if that is near the edge.
