Hi Sandy. I recommend using straight vinegar. Use rags, an old towel, or anything else you have on hand. Saturate the rags with vinegar and put them on top of the calcium ring. Leave it set overnight. Next day remove the rags and wipe everything up. Scrub the ring and rinse with clean water. Sandy, you probably will have to repeat this process. It depends on how much calcium deposits you're working worth. Just keep repeating and eventually you will remove the calcium. Good luck. I wish you well.
You need a descaler. I've been very happy with this set I purchased from QVC. I like the swab and if you watch the video, they tell you the proper way to clean the toilet (who knew?). I have that same issue, with the ring in my toilet. I think mine is lime but this is the only product that enabled me to clean it and keep it from coming back in 2 days.

Hi Sandy, I love CLR to get calcium and any mineral deposits off. We use it at the cottage where we have hard water all the time and it takes it right off.

Hello. The pumice stick has always worked for me.
Be sure to follow the use instructions, soaking the pumice stone in water for a few minutes. While the stone is soaking, grab your toilet brush and splash water up around the ring. Note: It’s very important to keep both the stone and the surface wet while cleaning to avoid scratching your porcelain.Hello. The Palmer steak has always worked for me.
That one prior residence residence the calcium buildup was so bad I had to empty the toilet water and chisel out the calcium buildup but since then all my calcium water rings and taken care of with the pumice stick.
