Painted Ceramic Vases
Have you heard of "Trash to Terracotta"? Geneva Vanderzeil from Collective Gen created a paint and baking powder recipe to transform old vases into textured ceramic beauties. I've seen people try either baking powder or baking soda (it's understandably easy to confuse the two) as this technique gained popularity on Instagram. I stayed true to the original recipe and used baking powder, but use whichever works for you!
I started with 7 pieces then started grabbing everything in sight once I saw how well they turned out!
I mixed several interior matte paint we had leftover from previous projects. Stir in the baking powder until mousse consistency. Don't be afraid to add more if you'd like more texture!
I did 2+ layers on each vase. You can add as many layers as you'd like. Make sure to add more baking powder if you want a thicker consistency!
I love how they turned out! Would you give this a try?
