Paint over sheetrock mud?
Took a walk down. Sheetrock Ed & muffed it& sanded. Painted the whole room& that one section just keeps showing up lighter than the rest of the paint! Why? How do I resolve this?

Hello. In my opinion unprimed drywall walls can take paint pretty poorly. The finish is dull and dry.
We’ve had the experience of new construction with spray painted walls and the paint finishes are quite inferior. A good quality primer followed by paint application would likely yield the best results. Or the better quality paint with primer compounds might be best options.
You could try priming that wall and painting it again.
Fresh drywall really needs one coat of sealer over it. Then the paint on top of that. If you ask at the paint store, they will let you know what you need
you need to prime new drywall before painting - just prime now and repaint and it should be okay
We always use a really good primer to start. That seems to solve the problem.
Did you prime? Maybe its being soaked up
Hi Marilyn, you need a good coat of primer o fresh sheetrock, it is highly absorbent, this should hep you out with the color difference.

Try priming that light spot. Then paint over it again with your color. Hopefully that will help!
It could be due to the existing walls have been primed and painted several coats first. If you didn't prime the other walls, that will account for the difference.
Hello I would suggest putting a coat of primer on the spot and repainting.
Primer will be your fix it friend here.
