how do I make a hanging potrack ?
You could hang a ladder from the ceiling and add hooks for the pots. I've also seen curtain rods and towel rods hung on the wall for pots. Here's a link with more ideas:

Hello. Always like to view Ana Whites site for any diys. Here’s some ideas that you might want to consider. Hope this helps.
Here is one way:
Hi Glenda: What I did was to get some hooks, screwed them into the back of the bottom of a cabinet, not the cabinet it self. The floor of the cabinet is about 1" above the wooden back rail, and I hung my pots there. The hooks go up into the wood. Drill holes for the hooks first to keep the wood from splitting. Find the centre of the area, put in one hook and put a pot on it, then get the next pot you want to hang there, put it up to the wood, make a mark for the hook, do the same on the other side, and put in your hooks. Do this for each pot you want to hang, and this way they won't be too close or far apart and will look nice. Mine are over my stove.

Hope this helps you out, inexpensive,
Wooden Ladders are popular for this. No matter what you use, be mindful of the height so you can grab them without assistance.
