Hi Patricia, it's loads of fun and pretty easy to do. The method we used was to mix cold water fabric dye and then freeze the different colors in ice trays. Scrunch up your fabric or lay it flat depending on the look you're going through and place the ice cubes on the fabric. Leave to melt. Set the fabric color according to the manufacturer's instructions. You can also use food coloring instead of fabric dye if you just want to experiment.

Ball up the fabric, set ice cubes atop it, then sprinkle with powdered dye. Let the ice melt.
