Refinish Cultured Marble Sink and Marble?
I’m looking to refinish my cultured marble bathroom counter and sinks (the sinks and countertop are one piece). I am thinking of using the Giani marble countertop kit. I’ve read I need to use a different product for the sinks, and was looking at Homax. But I am worried about the toxicity of the products and could use suggestions on a good respirator to wear. Would love to hear from someone who’s done this type of project. Thanks!

We used the respirators my husband uses when he paints a vehicle. You can get them at Harbor Freight for a good price.
Also, make sure you have a fan that will "pull" the air out of the room to help vent it properly.
Giani is great for countertops. It has fine ground minerals for a stone look. Yup, for the sinks use either Rustoleum or Homax tub and tile paint kits. Kathy Gunter Law has got it. Harbor Freight Tools for a respirator. Low prices. Open a window too.
Giani and Rustoleum make a great product for countertops. Definitely use a respirator, you do not want to hurt your lungs. If you have an exhaust fan use it, or open windows.

I bought a 3M respirator 4 years ago, that is called a half mask with cartridge filters (the pink part). About $14 for the mask and about $20 for most filters.
3M makes about 50 different filters for any kind of exposure you can think of. Their website has a very helpful set of pdf’s and they have an 800# if you need help determining which filter set to buy.
Ive used this for many many different projects and it works great.
I will tell you that, I wear a size medium, because “fit” is important.
