Your dishwashers heated cycle— if its been used-may have permanently set the stains. You might call your dishwasher manufacturer and ask their advice.
How old is the dishwasher?
Depending on the age of your dishwasher, unfortunately, it may have become permanently stained by certain foods, such as tomato sauce, curry powder, tea, among others. One of the main weaknesses of plastic dishwasher liners as compared to stainless steel is that they do tend to stain and discolour over time.
After making sure the dishwasher is free of any food particles, place a cup of white cleaning vinegar in an open dishwasher safe container on the upper rack and run a short hot cycle. Then sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of the unit and run another short hot cycle. This will clean, sanitize, and make it sparkle.
Prior to adding detergent, put one (1) drop of blue Dawn in the dispenser. You will be amazed at how much better your dishes will look, especially glasses and plastic.
My old dishwasher had plastic liner and I used unsweetened lemonade Kool-aid,I placed Kool-aid in dispenser and run as usual. I do the same for my coffee maker.
I love Lemi Shine products, They are all natural, and can be found in the grocery store where the dishwasher detergent is.
