How to repair wood floors from pet urine?
We have a 40 year old house with pine floors. The floors were coated with polyurethane at the time of installation. Unfortunately, our blind diabetic house dog urinated over a large area of the floor and the wet areas turned really dark. Can this be repaired by sanding off the old poly and retreating it? We are seniors and need an easy fix ... and it doesn't have to look like a brand new home. Thank you.

Most enzyme products need to be used first for better effect. An enzyme will help neutralize the acid in the urine. Use a product like this first:

You might try rejuvenate. Pine floors can’t be sanded as many times as hardwood can. Instead of sanding, try steel wool.
