Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Nov 19, 2012The fan on position is used to circulate air during the warmer summer months. It is also used if you have a high efficiency air cleaner and want the air in the house to be cleaned a bit more then it would be if the system simply turns on and off during the normal auto mode. In addition this fan on position runs the fan on high speed as though you were using AC mode. This air movement will create breezes in the house which will in turn cool you down. If your heating system is poorly installed with leaks on seams, or ducts located in cooler areas such as crawl spaces, attics or cold basements, This will also make the air colder in the house. The result not only will be feeling cold, you will waste money on energy and gain nothing back in return. Turn the switch on Auto during the winter, This is the best setting.Helpful Reply
