Josephine Howland on Jul 24, 2015I agree, plant trees like Balsam Fir, that keep there branches full from top to bottom. Too bad you live on the opposite coast than me, I have a forest full of firs. Also if you can get a copy of Woodland Garden by Robert Gillmore, he explains step by step how to plan and plant a woodland garden. You have the perfect place for one. Best of luck.Helpful Reply

Meaganlhd on Jul 24, 2015Here's an article on anchoring fencing on a tree - http://homeguides.sfgate.com/anchor-fence-tree-52542.html Alternatively, have you thought about adding tall full bushes in between the trees? We recently added several between our firs to block the noise and sight of a busy street. It will take a while for them to fill out enough to block the street but should look lovely in a few years.Helpful Reply

Sara on Jul 24, 2015I plant a large quantity of morning glories around my front porch for a natural privacy screen in the summer. I also plant them between the tree and garage in the back. All I do is run a rope between the tree and garage then cut pieces of yarn to tie to the rope. Let the yarn dangle to the ground and the flowering vine will climb right up and you will have a natural wall. Shake the vines at the end of the growing season and next year's vines will plant themselves.Helpful Reply

Connie Hoge on Jul 27, 2015Don't plant bamboo out in the mountains. Non-native Invasive, does harm to the ecosystem. I can't see a neighbor's house, privacy from what?Helpful Reply

Vicky on Jul 27, 2015yeah bamboo is very invasive but there is bamboo fencing that looks really good and you could attach it to the trees instead of fence post. then plant some mountain laurel, rhododendrums to make it look naturalHelpful Reply
