To clean, polish, and shine wood, works fantastic on knotty pine or furniture this has been used for many decades came from Amish family. Equal parts, boiled linseed oil, white vinegar, white turpentine mix together wipe on with soft cloth then with dry cloth if you get too much on it. You can clean, oil, and shine all of your wood. This doesn't harm the wood at all. You'll be amazed with your results. It smells kind of like banana oil.

I don't know about the water but 1/2 C vinegar and 1/2 C olive oil is a good wood cleaner. Can also squeeze in juice of 1/2 lemon.
