I have a very small apartment bathroom and I just added more shelving on the walls up higher then head level. By doing this it created the illusion there was more area because there wasn't so much stuff down at body level. I hope this helps, it works for me I love it.
Use wall shelves
Look at your unused space like up toward the ceiling. Could you put shelves up high over towlet. You just look at any empty space that will not impose on the use of facilities in a different way. Maybe check out time houses they do amazing thing with very little space. Just have to look at space differently.
Consider hanging a shoe holder on the back of your door. Also, have you thought about a shelf above the door for things like toilet paper?

Think vertical. Sapce above toilet is prime real estate. You can put shelves there and then use baskets to store things. Get yourself one of those toilet paper towers to store the TP. That will free up wherever you are currently storing it. Best of luck to you.
I hung shelves above my door and stored towels and Tp on top.
High shelving with cute bins for storing seldom used items.
About the shoe holders: don’t use the hangers. If there is a triangular flap at the top, fold it behind the shoe holder. Use a heavy duty stapler to staple the top of the shoe holder to very near the top of the door. Before you staple the rows to the door, find a second shoe holder. Staple the BOTTOM of this shoe holder to the bottom of the door. Staple again at the seam above the bottom row. Continue stapling the lower shoe holder to its top. Then staple the upper shoe holder to the door, stapling at each horizontal seam and the bottom edge.
You will be able to use all the spaces in the upper shoe holder, and all the spaces in the lower shoe holder except where the two holders overlap. Lots more usable space.
Btw, as you are putting things in these pockets, toss things in the trash that are outdated, worn out, and not of use. Don’t keep it just because you have it.
Best wishes in finding all the best storage ideas. ☺️
Maybe go through your stuff and see where you can simplify first.
