Any ideas to change or disguise 1"x1" ceramic bathroom floor tiles?

My bathroom is small, but dated. 1970's 1"x1" ceramic floor tiles. I've tried cleaning the grout, but it didn't work very well. I'm up for any suggestions regarding cleaning, painting or whatever.

I would definitely first clean them well and then paint! Rustoleum makes a tile and bath paint that I hear works great.

You can use rustoleum tile paint kit. I would try out a fun stencil pattern!
