anytime you place paint in areas where there is moisture like baths you need to read the info on the gold leaf you plan to use or go to youtube.com

You could always paint or spray it gold or use gold tiles or Vinyl wallpaper.
If y ou varish the gold leaf it will last. Or I would use Laquer. Rustoleum makes a beautiful gold leaf paint that would require no varnish.
