Vintage and Teal Dresser Upcycle
This dresser was a steal! I love the beauty of this vintage dresser with all its moldings! Although when I got it, it was far from its prime. But nothing a little sanding and tsp and paint can’t fix!
before... you could say it needed some work
I had a friend sand this for me, and he did an amazing job! A lot of hand sanding but it made my job a lot easier
Primed this beauty with zinsser shellac based primer which, if you have been following be for a while you know this is my go to! I knew this one would be a bleeder.
This is country chic’s Wanderess! It turned out to be the perfect colour even tho I was sceptical.

I used provincial mini wax for the legs
Restained in verathanes rustic bronze
I used varathanes waterbased non yellowing satin top coat! About 3X
Ahh I got so much more love on this piece then I thought I was going to! I am so glad I went bold with the colour 🥰🥰

Pretty. I think I might have painted the legs as well or left the legs and the web looking detail on the top drawer without paint and just top coated.

It came out nice! I see that you cut off that rounded detail on the bottom front (below the arrow shaped detail) but the one on the left looks like it was filled in but the one on the right looks like it was not. Is there a reason for that?
How do you get the drawers to open and close smoothly? I have several older hutches and cabinets and always get frustrated with the sticky drawers!
Hello, what size jar did you have & how many jars of paint did it take to do this piece? I have a dresser very similar to this one & I think I'm going to do the same thing. Love that color! Fabulous job!
