Are there any services where you can call in the specs and they will make and send the finished roofs to you. These are not a big areas and the contractor I spoke with wants $6,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Rose,

Yes look up Door Canopies on eBay or other places for contacts.

Not clear what you are asking for. You can get awnings to go over door areas to provide shelter from rain/snow. Big box stores sell some and you can find companies online that sell them, including Amazon. If you are talking about adding a wood structure with a roof (a portico) over a door, you need to find a carpenter who can do the work for you and knows what he or she is doing. Cost would depend on whether you want a portico built in and over a portion of your existing roof or attached to the house with a ledger board and bolts. It depends on the structure of your house and what you have in mind for the overhead door cover.

Look for a place that makes metal roofing. There is one in our area and they will an awning to your specification. You can purchase a fabric awning as well.

If you are handy, you can build a frame of wood, add plywood, and then add roofing material to match your existing roof.

    Hi Rose,

If you want someone to make the roof, I'd suggest getting at least 3 estimates. Also make sure that your thoughts are the same as the contractor's. If you want something simple and you get a high quote, make sure you're both talking about the same thing. The contractor may have something different in mind. Wishing you the best.
