How do I build a frame around a propane wall heater safely?

I have a wall propane heater. I would like to build a frame around it to make it look somewhat like a fireplace. How
and can this be safely done. I will thank you in advance for your time and suggestions.

Propane needs an outside exhaust. Be careful not to block air intake and the exhaust. I would start with a frame in the color that is pleasing and then place artificial logs inside the frame and screening in front of it.
What you are looking for is a faux fireplace mantle. Like Mona suggests. Do not block the intake and exhaust vents. Lots of ideas here.

Make sure to use metal studs and fireboard. Then you can tile, paint or do just about anything with it.
Aside from being aware of the vents, if you place anything too close to a heater, it can eventually get hot enough to cause a fire. That's one reason you see tile, bricks, etc. between the firebox/heater and a wood mantle. Look up the UBC - Universal Building Code - to give you guidelines on the correct way to do what you want to do - especially if it is going to be permanent.
