Any water seal for a deck would work. You can get it anywhere but if this is the only thing you are going to seal, try and get a smaller container.Helpful Reply -

Water seal needs to absorb into the grain of raw wood. Won't work for you. Use a marine grade varnish. Protects wood surfaces on boats.Helpful Reply -

Varathane or a marine varnish. It works on a boat in water, it will work on your bench in the garden.Helpful Reply -

Go and get some thin oil even hydraulic oil and paint the wood with it. It`s a workbench ,not a masterpiece by michelangelo .Helpful Reply -

Helmsman is one of the best. Several coats should do the trick. Really no way to plasticize it.Helpful Reply -

i really like Cabots Spar Varnish. I make adirindack chairs in cedar and the Varnish seals the wood and prevents it from turning gray and water just beads on the surface.Helpful Reply -
