How to add wood deck over concrete patio without concrete removal?

I would like to know the easiest way to add a wood deck over an existing concrete patio without actually having to tear out the old concrete. Can I do the wood right over the top of the concrete? Do I need to put anything on top of the concrete before I add the wood?

use ground contact lumber w/ stringers ( support ) underneath; you need a way for air to circulate as rain will fall and being on concrete won't be absorbed into dirt ... build just like you would any other deck, but support will be needed at the outer edges by putting your railings / step supports into the ground. Don't lay the decking directly in contact with the concrete -- chances are it won't be level enough ..

not going to be an easy job ... but certainly doable ... hope you have good help! you'll need a miter saw for the corners, metal braces for the stringers to sit on, there are great vids on YouTube, as well as paper plans at most big home improvement centers --
