You need to cost this project out. First is to decide how big a patio you are making, city state county codes may have to be met. You may need a permit to install it. Then take paper and pen to diy big box store. Look at the materials available...brick, paving stones, etc determine how much materials you need of each .total up the price of each, see what fits your budget. Look around your neighborhood as well....what are others having installed? You don’t want to go overboard and over improve for your area, keep it line with what’s happening around you.
thank you
Mim, you probably need to use a local stone. In my part of Texas, sandstone and granite are very popular. In my hometown in Georgia, marble and cement are the most used. If you can afford imported stone, the ground has no limit. Best wishes, ☺️
Popular patio building materials run the gamut from poured concrete and pavers of recycled plastic to natural flagstone and bricks of fired clay.
Hi Mim! I think this may help you out! https://www.hgtv.com/remodel/outdoors/choosing-materials-for-your-patio
Building a free-standing deck may be the easiest way to get this done and get a level surface on a sloping lawn. The existing grass will need to be removed, and a proper sub-base is a must for any type of patio.
