What are the best materials to build a coyote-proof pet enclosure?

We lost one cat to coyotes, and want to ensure our 22 lb dog and 2 other cats can enjoy the outdoors without getting killed. We own our home and can build a very sturdy and stable enclosure.

When we didn't have a fenced yard, we went to menards and got a dog run that was chain link and had a sturdy tarp cover that we got for it for shade. It was indestructible and we had it up for about twelve years and it was still in good shape. I use the gate for a door into my vegetable garden that has an eight foot fence around it. -

We now have INDOOR cats ONLY, as two have been killed by "something" Not sure how you would build anything that would guarantee their ability to get to it if attacked. In the open they are doomed.
