Look What's Cooking a DIY Pallet Shelf

I have a confession to make.... I can't cook; but I have a friend who can whip up a delicious meal using stuff I don't even remember buying. She's always bailed me out when my cooking experiments go horribly wrong. The only way I know how to say thank you is to make her something that celebrates her culinary magic.
This little COOK shelf, made from pallets, is just big enough to hold her recipe books and favorite spices and it all started with a crazy idea after she saw our home shelf.
We couldn't find any pallets wide enough to hold books so we used a piece of pine to form the main shelf and added the pallet letters using L-shaped brackets.
The O's at the bottom are just big enough to store large spice bottles and the C and K work really well as bookends for all those recipe books.
I think the hardest bit about making the shelf was trying to figure out what angle to cut the K pieces. It was almost as bad as trying to figure out how on earth you can bake something blind. Really, who thinks of these things? Seriously though, if you can use a saw and a screw driver, the little COOK shelf is really easy to make.
To hang the shelves we used some galvanized pipes and a flange, which we just screwed into the wall on either side of the O's.

Now my lovely undercover Master Chef friend has a OOAK shelf for all her kitchen-y bits and maybe she'll continue saving me from burning down the kitchen.

For all the measurements and full "how to" come say hi on the blog.
