Go to a craft store like Michaels or Joanne. The large the store the bigger selection of trinket boxes they will carry. Also check out their onine websites.
You can buy a Memory Frame. It is like a picture frame but deeper and made to display items. You could put a picture of Grandpa in the back of the frame and then attach the knife in front of the picture. It would be nice to have a picture of son and Grandpa together. I would poke two holes in the back of the frame and then stand the knife upright so it can be seen and run twine or a tie wrap around the knife in the front then pulling it through the holes and securing it in the back of the frame. You will find these frames at WalMart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or online. They come in many sizes. What a nice tribute to Grandpa.
A small case, like the kind used for baseballs.
How about a clock in a wooden frame. set the time to when your son was born, maybe even add his fingerprint and Place the knife either in the middle of the clock or at the 6.
The knife will be enclosed behind the glass.
Good Luck☘️!
A small shadowbox frame might be an attractive alternative and that could be wall mounted, or stand on a surface.
The knife could be carefully looped with clear nylon fishing line or wired to the backing.

You might try casesforcollectibiles.com they have cases for everything. I just bought a case for my World Series Champions Cubs Trophy and it is well constructed and looks great. They have very reasonable prices also. Hope you make out well with them. I am very satisfied with mine.
You might try casesforcollectibles.com. I ordered a case for my World Series Champions Cubs trophy. Good quality case and good price. I wish you well.
Personally, since this is a sentimental piece, I'd take it somewhere and have it done professionally so as not to harm the knife when mounting or cause harm in the future. Love adding a picture idea! This is a DIY site so... You could also go to a store that does framing and look around for ideas and ask advice so knife isn't damaged. I had an item I tried to display and unfortunately I didn't do it properly and with time it was ruined. Good luck! 😊
