Hi. Try a load of hot water and vinegar. No clothing. Hope that helps.

You need to clean your washing machine. It is damp and humid in there and is a breeding ground for mold and mildew. If you live in a humid climate, this escalates the problem. Here is info for cleaning a top loader:

I use vinegar. Vinegar kills mold spores bleach does not.

If you have a front loader let me know, similar process but front loaders are different.
Before doing anything, especially if your machine is new, is to read your owners manual and follow manufacturers recommendations so you do not void any warranty you may have. If you no longer have it, look up on line.
I would check the level both front to back and side to side. We never had an odor in ours until we could not get it to level. We have to replace one of the front adjusting levelers which has rusted and won't turn. If you have any moisture left in your washer after the final spin it can sour and mold and mildew can grow. And you can't get to it to clean it. We leave the lid open after doing our laundry and that seems to let it dry out so mold and mildew won't form and start to smell. Just something to consider. Best wishes.
