These look pretty well burned in, but the thing I would try is making a paste of baking soda and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and scrub away. This won't be an easy clean. Once you're done, put aluminum foil in them to keep them clean in the future.

I've moved several times and I just replace them with new from Walmart. Take the old ones with you to make sure you have the right size. Saves a lot of work and they are very inexpensive. :)

You can also purchase new ones at Walmart and other such stores but I even covered the new ones with foil just to keep this from happening.

I use oven cleaner ... spray on ... let it set for a few minutes and remove with soapy water.

when done, take alumiumen (can't spell) foil and cover each of them so cleaning won't be so hard next time. Remember, too ... new ones are cheap.

Honestly they may be beyond cleaning, as they tend to stain permanently. Oven cleaner is worth a try, but if that doesn't work, replace them.

  • try ammonia and garbage bags go to the diy site

You could try getting a fairly big pot they will fit in and boil water (with them in the pot) when it boils put in a dryer sheet or 2 and let sit overnight. It should help release burnt on grime.

Or put a fair amount of baking soda over the burnt areas, let it sit for a few seconds, then put them in a shallow container and pour vinegar over the baking soda and let it sit for 5/10 mins with the baking soda and vinegar doing it's thing. Then scrub with a stiff bristled brush.

If that doesn't work it may be better to just replace them. You can get liners for them pretty cheap to avoid this in the future :)

Take a ziplock bag and put about 1/4 cup ammonia in it, place one of the plates inside and zip it up. Do this for each of the plates and let it set about 24 hours. Should rinse right off. If, and I say if, there is any residue afterwards, just use a little barkeeper's friend and the blue sponge scratchy.
