How to remove baked on food on gas stove top?
I have a gas stove top with stainless steel around the burners. I have tried a home remedy of cream of tartar, peroxide and lemon juice. Sadly I am still unable to get a sparkling clean stove top. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try soft scrub
Spray some oven cleaner on a cloth and wipe on the oven. Let it sit for a few hours then scrub with a microfiber cloth or an SOS pad scratch free.
Fume Free Easy Off oven cleaner works well on enamels and stainless.. but will also remove paint and cloud aluminum. It works on a cold service and should be allowed to sit overnight.
I've had great luck cleaning my stainless cookware which had burned on gunk in the bottom with coke (Coca-Cola or Pepsi). I just poured it in and let it soak overnight, no boiling. I'm thinking if there's a way you could let the coke stand on the food or perhaps soak a rag with coke and let it set on the dried food it may loosen it enough to come off. I would not try to remove it with any scratchy pad or steel wool which would harm your stainless steel surface. Good luck!
