At the end of article it mentioned to use isopropyl alcojol for cleaning rather than rubbing alcohol as rubbing alcohol contains other chemicals, including dyes, which could stain.
Other lubricants, such as WD-40 or cooking oil, and cleaners such as Goo Gone work well for removing adhesive. However, it will be necessary to clean the surface afterwards to remove any residue from the cleaner.

Hi Kathie! Have you tried Dawn dish detergent? I've had good luck removing sticky adhesive from clothing with it. Work it in really well, let it work and then wash in the hottest water you can with this fabric. Don't put it in the dryer until you have removed all of it. I use Goo Gone if that doesn't work, and then remove the residue of the Goo Gone with the Dawn.
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...

Hi there, I use cold pressed coconut oil to get off adhesive but I do not know if it will take it out of your sheets.
Here is a way to remove adhesive from microfiber furniture so believe it would work on sheets..
