Add Vingar in wash
Or add Baking Soda in Wash..
Do not add both ..chemical reaction will possibly eat holes in clothes..
I would put clothes on soak cycle with vingar
To remove strong odors, we were told to use vinegar in the wash. I have also heard of a soaking them in a mixture of Dawn dish detergent/peroxide/baking soda ( Check on line for proportions). Good luck!
Try using Borax with your washing powder
and when you dry them use bounce dryer sheets.
Borax is good for a lot of hard smelly things hope this works.

If a booster in the wash doesn't do it, you can do a pinesol soak then wash.
Vinegar and baking soda in the wash and vinegar in the rinse. I do all my laundry this way. I had to change my laundry routine when I rescued a dog that was allergic to just about everything. Works like a charm, clean fresh laundry with no chemicals! And I use felted wool dryer balls in the dryer.

I just had to do this with an old quilt, it was very musty smelling. I soaked it for a bit in water and an essential oil called purification (you can Google it) and then washed it (twice actually) in hot water and vinegar. Then I dried it with lavender laundry sachets I found from Trader Joe’s. Great results, smells fresh again!
