How can I clean the lingering odor from linseed oil smoke?

a cloth with drying linseed oil caught fire in the pantry of our very small apt (800 sq ft). the odor is so, so strong. It didn't get to the flame point (thankfully) but the smoke filled the house before we caught it (2AM). We've tried white vinegar and the only thing we can think of next is KILZ - will this work? We are currently quarantined due to COVID in our city so this is somewhat pressing, as this odor is especially difficult to live with when you cant leave the house!

can you put a fan in a window blowing out, and make sure any residue is washed off walls and things? There is really no easy way to get rid of that smell, on furniture you have to shellac or wait for it to go away.

If you're able to, I second Diana's recommendation to get some fans in your windows. It might be cold for a little while, but it will really help. If you have a fan over your oven, turn that on, too. Bathroom fans? Turn them on.
Kilz paint will cover the odor, Veronica.
Including the window fans....Set bowls of vinegar out, boxes or baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda on furniture and carpeting. Let sit for a while then vacuum. wash the walls down, prime with Kilz primer then paint.
Thanks all! We have definitely had all windows open / doors open with fans on (all of them) since it happened but nighttime is difficult when we have to close windows (still cold on east coast). We are going to try the kilz! Appreciate all of your insights so much. Be safe everyone!
Veronica, I'm so sorry. If you meant Kilz, a primer, yes, it will kill the odor. It has a strong smell itself, but it evaporates quickly. Hope that helps.
Another product that is so much easier to use than Kilz is called Butta made by Dixie Belle Paint Co. One can simply rub it in with a cloth and the odor is gone. It is an amazing product. U can order it online from them or check to see where your local Dixie Belle retailer is. This info. can be found on Dixie Belle's website.
