If your crazy quilt has satins, silks and velvets please don't try to use vinegar or wash it. First try putting several days in the hot sun, 2. you can sprinkle baking soda over it and then gently vaccum it or 3. put the quilt in a pillow case and put in your freezer for several days.
Vinegar and water.
Moth balls for a week. They smell but it works. Then vinegar and water.
Soak in the washing machine with vinegar added to the wash cycle, let it run for a few minutes to get it all mixed together then pause the washer and let it soak for at least 8 hours. Then continue the cycle with laundry detergent added.
Soak with oxiclean in the washer for a few hours. If you have a front load was with oxiclean then rinse with white vinegar. Do not dry in the dryer put it on a cloths line outside to dry in the sun/
