You don't mention what kind of stain. Rub Dawn dish liquid into the stain. A paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide worked into the stain. Then launder as usual.

The jersey has red and black trim and numbers on it. I know I can't use bleach. I've been soaking it in cold water with Dawn and Krud Kutter. Help me please!

Bleach usually works for me. If you have dried it , it could already been set.
You can use a blueing agent. Ace hardware carries a nice one.
